Pacifica: Yummy Body Butters and Candles

I was a little surprised that a big store like Sephora would decide to carry a little label like Pacifica, but I guess that is how they grow little brands into big ones. I have seen Pacifica products in small boutiques for quite a few years now. Their packaging is very ornate and eye-catching, so they are easy to spot. They have a collection of amazing scent offerings, all tropical and very fruity/floral so it is no wonder I love them ALL. They are also made from mostly natural products and so far I'm happy with everything I've bought from them.

A few months back I picked up a bottle of the perfume spray in (one of my favorite scents) Tuscan Blood Orange at an adorable boutique called Picnic on Polk Street in Russian Hill. I love it because it reminds me of gallivanting around Italy back when I studied abroad in college.

Sephora has chosen not to carry these perfume sprays, only the solid scents, but some of their other offerings are equally as lust-worthy. I picked out a yummy body butter in Brazilian Mango Grapefruit ($15), which is a perfect way to get me in the mood for spring. I always use body butter after I shave, so this just makes that task all the more pleasant.

I also picked up a sweet smelling soy candle in Bali Lime Papaya ($16). My dangerously curious kitten thought the candle smelled so good, he went to sniff it and burned a few whiskers off, poor guy! Don't worry, I burn the candle high up on a book shelf from now on, promise!

Diptyque Pink Box Set

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Diptyque is launching a limited-edition Pink Box Set of Three Mini Rose Candles. The pink box set is available exclusively at the Diptyque store in San Francisco. Aren't we lucky! I just love these candles! If only I had a Valentine to give them to me...

This year, the most romantic of all the Diptyque candles plays up the vintage touch with a rosebud motif. Inspired by Liberty fabrics, the design pays tribute to the Diptyque founders who originally created textiles for this historic London department store. Nestled in a pink box, the three fragrances include: Hawthorn Rose (Aubepine), Roses, and Geranium Rose. They can be burned together or separately to create a subtle, nuanced blend that celebrates the romantic flower. Each candle has a burn time of 30 hours, and the box set is available at the suggested retail price of $98.

Additionally, Diptyque has a single, limited-edition Pink ROSES candle available at the suggested retail price of $68 (burn time 60+ hours). Both a such beautiful gifts to give the one you love... or suggest to your honey that that is what you want. I think candles are a great gift because they last and last, especially these.

Holiday Beauty Gift Guide: Home Fragrance

With the weather getting colder and fewer windows being left open, my apartment tends to get a little stuffy. To scent my place without losing heat, I love to light candles, spray room-fresheners, and find other yummy smelly things to enjoy around the house. What a better holiday gift to give than Home Fragrances? Here are some great ones to think about this season:

For the fashion-conscious homemaker: Marc Jacobs 'Home' Room Fragrance Spray ($65) is a very stylish, modern way to keep a room smelling fresh and delicious. The scent is dispersed through the room by an elegant fabric atomizer. Gorgeous!

For the baked goods maker: Laura Mercier's Almond Coconut Milk Candle ($42) sounds like it's made of all the yummy things in your holiday goodies but it's calorie-free to burn. Along with almond and coconut, there is powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a hint of cinnamon. Can you say YUM?

For the trendy nester: Fresh's Sugar Lychee Scented Candle ($48) is a deliciously hip mix of citrus scents and lychee fruit. A favorite scent among those in the know, who wouldn't want this burning on their mod coffee table this holiday?

For the brand name lover: Henri Bendel's Fragrance Reeds in Lemon Verbena ($28) is a stylish and yet vintage way to scent the home. The name shows quality, but the price won't break your bank. At best of all, it's available at Bath and Body Works, just a mall away.

For the tree hugger: If you can't have the windows open to the fresh outdoors, replicate the sensation with Blue Spruce and Juniper Berry scented home fragrance oils ($7.50 each) from The Body Shop. Don't forget to include a rustic and stylish oil burner like The Droplet ($16).
