mark cosmetics Costa Rica Collection

mark's new Costa Rica Collection is not shy in ANY way. Talk about kick-in-your-pants fun! These colors scream with energy and passion. So if color scares you, step away! The collection contains:

Eye Exotics Eyeshadow Trios, $6 each - Whether you want to shade, define, shadow or line, any look can be yours. Create stunning eye looks with 1 color palette. Bold shades that make the perfect eye statement for the summer season. Available in three shades.

Lip Exotics Lip Lacquers, $6 each - A full coverage, wet, high shine, lacquer for lips. Creamy texture glides on lips smoothly….leaving lips looking full and lush. Flavored with mark signature spearmint for fresh, kissable lips. Available in five fun shades. I little too much color for me, but maybe you go for that sort of thing!

Good Glowing Mosaic Cheek Colors, $7 each - A smooth powder that lets you glow wherever you to want it to go. Whether you want to shimmer or blush the look can be yours. Sold in single-pan format, it can easily be removed/popped into the mark. Favorite Colors Palette, interchangeable with mood or moment. Available in two shades.

I tried out the eye shadow trio in Jungle Love, which has two shades of green and one light pink. I was able to create a fun bright look, although it was a little hard to get at the colors individually. The pigment was bright enough, and with a little moisture I used the darker green as an eyeliner. Fun for summer eyes that don't want to be too serious!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Kiss & Stay Lip Gloss

While I'm not big into lots of color on my lips, some days just call for it. And if I'm going to wear a color all day it has to last since I never remember to re-apply. But when it comes to gloss I love, love, love to re-apply all day long. So I think Rimmel London has come up with the perfect product for me. Their new Lasting Finish Kiss & Gloss gives me a nice lasting color on one side and then gloss I can apply and re-apply to my hearts content. The color and most of the gloss lasted through my morning coffee and lunch, which is more than enough for me. The gloss is a little sparkly and very shiny with the right amount of stickiness. I tried shade 200 "Enduring Love" and found it to be a good neutral pink for everyday lip wear, or a night out. I'm sure one of the 12 shades they have will make you as equally happy.

Trina Turk for Clinique

Nordstrom has a great GWP for Clinique right now... because the bag it comes in was designed by Trina Turk. All you have to do is spend $25 and you get this awesome sliver and white bag with bright yellow lining. It is decently large, so it can actually fit all the makeup I need for a weekend trip! Watch the video online about Trina Turk and how she came up with the design for the bag.

The GWP includes:
* Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser (1.7 oz.)
* Zero Gravity Repairwear Lift Firming Cream (0.5 oz.)
* Multi-Compact with Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Beach Plum
and Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher in New Clover
* Lash Doubling Mascara (0.14 oz.)
* Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Bamboo Pink
* Long Last Lipstick in Blush Coral
* Silvery Lipstick Case
* Elegant travel bag designed exclusively for Clinique by Trina Turk

So far I like the pink glosswear and the eye shadow duo. If I wore lipstick, I would totally carry it in the hot silver case. But the bag is really the best part.. and totally worth a few purchases. I just love it when Fashion and Beauty come together to make beautiful things happen.

For my purchases, I got another cream shaper for eyes in brown sugar. As I said before, I love these pencils because of how soft they are. They create a great line without hardly any pressure and if you want, they smudge and blend well too. I also picked up a major standby for generations of women, almost lipstick in black honey. Not one for much color on my lips, this is the perfect hint of red. It literally makes your pout look like it does naturally... but better!

Smashbox Pink Power Eye and Lip Kit

I am a sucker for makeup palettes. Throw 3, 5, even 10 shades of anything into a compact and even if I'd never buy them individually, I take one look at it and feel that I must purchase it. Well, Smashbox has created an adorable set of two palettes for their Breast Cancer Awareness promotion this year, and by golly I want it! The eye palette colors look very pretty; I like the idea of pink and olive green together though I haven't tried the look myself. I'm a bit more skeptical about the lip palette. I never seem to use them as much. But, according to the avid reviewers on Sephora.com the colors in both palettes are very wearable and universally flattering. Good to know!

To make it even harder for me to resist, Smashbox is donating to a real cool organization. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Young Survival Coalition, an international nonprofit network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the concerns and issues that are unique to young women with breast cancer. Now that is a great way to get pretty... and add to my overflowing collection of pallets.

This Summer Love Your Lips With Stila

I'm sitting here being lazy while my mom and aunt pick, pit, and prepare cherries fresh from the garden tree. Yum. I should go help but instead I'm blogging away. So when I came across Stila's Cherry Crush, I thought "How fitting?!" This click pen doubles as a lip and cheek stain. I love the idea of staining yourself with cherries, just not on your clothes. And it happens to be a part of some great deals on stilacosmetics.com

You can get Cherry Crush with free shipping by using the code CHERRYCRUSH at checkout. Or, if your looking for some new lip looks to add to your life, check out their Summer Lovin' deal to get your lips a different look each day of the week. Order one of each of the following and use the code LIPDEAL at check out for a free lip brush and free shipping:

Monday: Lip Glaze, Stila's ever popular lip gloss in a pen brush. Each color has a different flavor, so pick your pout color carefully! I'd go for the Grapefruit, a frosted pink, myself!

Tuesday: Lip Pot: These light tints provide a hint of color with a ton of moisture in a cute little pot. I'd get Madarine for sure!

Wednesday: Lip Polish: If you like one step makeup, this is for you. A lip color and gloss in one, you get your look taken care of in one fell swoop. I just love Glisten, a shimmering pink nude.

Thursday: SPF 20 Shine Lip Color: This summer you need protection, without sacrificing your look. This will give you the shine you want with the protection you need. They are scented with vanilla to make you as kissable as ever. I want Anna, a medium sheer antique rose.

Friday: Cherry Crush: This multipurpose stain actually reacts to the pH levels in your skin to give you the perfect flush. Yum.

Saturday: Plumping Lip Glaze: Perfect for when you head out on the town, this gloss packs a punch of vitamins and peptides to give you a big sexy pout while freshening your smile with a variety of minty flavors. I am dying for Minty Mint, a soft gold color.

Sunday: Long Wear Lip Color: Housed in a handy no-sharpen pen, this lip color is made to last without drying out your lips. A kind of combination lipstick and gloss in one, it is so easy to apply because of its small pen-like tip. I'd get Serenade, a gold red.

See the promotion for full details, but most importantly this offer may expire at any time to act fast!!!

POP beauty Lip Lust

POP beauty has come out with a fun new lipstick to try called Lip Lust. It's hydrating with a sheer hint of color that will actually protect your lips from losing moisture. I tried Petal Pink, a sheer pale pink that is simply lovely and not too much color for me (I'm kind of scared of color on my lips...). Besides, the tube it comes in is just so darn cute and a perfect summer accessory for only $13. Gorgeous!

Color Is In The Air

Just like I loved Bottega Veneta's lilac eyes yesterday, I am loving the trend towards highly bright pigmented eyes and lips. Sephora's big ads right now are all about "Makeup As Art" and I just love it. You should be afraid of going a little bright once in awhile. Its your chance to show off the wild side and go a little color crazy! Here are some products I love for creating these highly pigmented bright looks:

Make Up For Ever Flash Color is a cream color that delivers highly dramatic shades for a unique and unforgettable look. I love the Bright Blue and Fuchsia!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils provide excellent color for your most fabulous looks. Urban has been shocking is customers for years now with over the top, wow-worthy colors and these pencils are no disappointment. I love Gunmetal and Lush the best but they are all lust worthy!

Lancome Color Fever Shine has a lot of color with being too over the top because it's still sheer. The more vibrant shades can be worn to follow this highly pigmented trend and still stay within the bounds of "pretty". I would try Pink In The Limo or Rock Icon Fuchsia for some serious color! Not to mention the packaging is so cute!

Beauty Tips For A Fresh Start

I love checking Style.com for all the latest pictures from the fashion shows, especially the close ups of the runway makeup looks, of course. But they also have a great beauty section, from the editors of W and Vogue.

Currently, The 2008 Beauty Guide is all about re-vamping your beauty arsonal for the new year. Some of the suggestions are obvious (new hair color! whiten your teeth!) and some just cute. Here are the tips I might go for to help start off the new year right:

For up-to-date nails, try nude mettalics on your toes and a short bold navy manicure. I think I'll pick up OPI's Russian Navy today. Gorgeous.

Nothing like a new scent to make you feel like a new woman. I just got a sample of Fresh Sugar Lemon and its definately... FRESH! Think I might take another look at their wide variety of scents and find one a little less lemony, but new and exciting!

Try a new lip color... dark red for one! I am married to my lip glosses, but maybe

it's time I jump out of my comfort zone a bit and go for something like Dior Rouge Dior Repenishing Lip Colour in Red Premiere 752. Wowza... that would be different!

Change-it-up Lovely!
