Find Your Next Fragrance At Sephora

Are you one of those people who has been wearing the same scent for the last 10 years? Well maybe its time to look for something new... seriously, get out of that rut! Or maybe you are like me and every time you get close to finishing a scent you just want to try something new! Call it fragrance ADD but it is too much fun. Besides, you end up with a whole collection of fragrances to choose from everyday.
Sephora has this great tool on their website called Fragrance Finder. You can enter either a scent or brand you already like or a notes you enjoy (floral, fresh, woodsy, etc.) and it leads you to new scents to try. Sephora has such a wide variety of fragrances to choose from, you're bound to find something you'll like and from a brand you might not expect. Also Sephora generally has a wider selection, especially smaller sizes and fun things like rollerballs that allow you to try the scent for a little bit less cash.

I entered in that I liked LAMB by Gwen Stefanie. I've written about it twice before but I'm never satisfied wit its lasting power. The finder suggested, among other things, Gucci's Envy Me. I've smelled this before and liked it, but I'd forgotten about it. Guess I'll have to check it out now.

Back In Love With L.A.M.B

So I know I've written about this perfume a few times, but I discovered a new product that made me excited about it all over again! Gwen Stefanie's L by L.A.M.B. is the perfect mix of citrus fruit, floral and a touch of musk to give it depth. I have complained in the past that it doesn't seem to last very long. I ended up going through my bottle in a month! Not ok when its like $40 for 1oz.! Well, I just picked up the rollerball for $25 at Sephora, and let me tell you, it hasn't left my side! I can reapply this delicious scent whenever I please! I get compliments all the time! I'll probably go through it in a flash too. Too bad its not refillable.

I Take It Back

I had posted on my disappointment in my recent fragrance purchase, Gwen Stefani's first scent for her label, L by L.A.M.B. But I would like to recant. Yes, it is slightly more subtle that I would like, but in reality I don't like heavy scents that linger for days. It really is the perfect perfume for me personally and I am definitely going to buy it again. Since it is so light, I tend to put a lot on so my 1 oz. size that came in my gift set is quickly disappearing. I will most certainly be buying it again. My favorite part of the gift set was the perfume solid though. It is an ideal way for me to refresh the scent and it seems to last longer in solid form.

Use Your Common Scents

I took advantage of the Sephora's Friends and Family Discount to pick up Gwen Stefani's new Fragrance L by L.A.M.B. ($55 for 1.7oz.) because I really enjoyed the scent in the store. I still like it, but I am so not satisfied with its staying power. I know that after you spray perfume, your nose gets used to it and you can't smell it on yourself after awhile. But L hardly lasts at all. It is the perfect mix of citrus, floral, and a touch of musk, but who would ever know?! It disappears on me 5 minutes after I spray it. I am so very sad. I'll continue to wear it as an everyday scent until its used up, but I don't think I'll buy it again.

Along with my purchases, I got to pick three sample products. I picked three perfumes because they are the biggest samples available, and as I just pointed out, its best to sample a perfume a few times before purchasing a whole bottle! Well, my favorite one is Tocca's Florence ($68 for 1.7oz.). Not only does the city hold a special place in my heart (Fall '05, oh memories!) but the scent is delicious and quite intense. Of course I like because it has grapefruit leaves in it, one of my ultimate favorite scents, along with something called cabbage rose, a old European garden rose. It is quite floral, but very unique. Darn it, I have such good (read: expensive) taste!

A Little Online Pre-Thanksgiving Shopping

I know its the season to give... to others. But just now I accidentally clicked on Sephora.com (how'd that happen?!) while watching Project Runway tonight. Fab episode, by the way, with SJP challenging the designers to design an outfit for her Bitten line with only $15. Anyways back to my beauty splurge... I have been lusting over Gwen Stefani's first fragrance, L by L.A.M.B., ever since it wafted into my nose. It is in step with many other new fragrances coming out, in that it mixes feminine floral notes with a masculine kick. I love it, though, because it has a fresh, clean citrus touch as well. I was able to resist the urge to buy it, until I saw the gift set online just now. For $55 you get a 1 oz eau de parfum spray, a 2.5 oz body lotion, and a 0.11 oz solid perfume in a signature gift box. Such a nice set!

I justified buying it by using the 20% off Friends and Family Discount code (use FF2007 for a limited time...not sure when it ends though) and a $10 e-certificate. Am I a bad person?! Well, at least I'll smell good this holiday season!
