Bliss The Youth As We Know It Concentrate

Although I haven't tried too many, I've been a big fan of the few Bliss products I've gotten my hands on. My latest obsession is The Youth As We Know It Concentrate. It is a light weight moisture lotion put on after exfoliating with Peeling Groovy facial serum. It has pearl illuminators to give my skin some luminosity. The hydration is supposed to be longer lasting than most since the Hydroplex-3 (used in Bliss's in-spa The Youth As We Know It facial) binds to the skin to continue to moisturize over time. I just like that is is super light weight, smells like yummy grapefruits and absorbs quickly.
You can use alone as a light weight moisturizer or under The Youth As We Know It Moisturizer for a double dose of hydration.

Hydrate lovely!

P.S. Bliss has a special offer August 12th though August 16th:

Murad T-Zone Pore Refining Gel

While I am pretty sold on the amazing-ness of the Bliss Peeling Groovy serum, I have to continue to try new product since, duh, that is why I have this blog! So when I got a chance to try a similar product from Murad, i.e. a serum that helps the skin exfoliate, I decided to incorporate it into my skin care routine. I've been using Murad's T-Zone Pore Refining Gel at night after I wash my face. I pump only once and get enough gel for my entire face (its not just for the T-zone, its can go everywhere!). It goes on a bit more wet and a little sticky, which is why I use it at night, followed by a heavier moisturizer than I use in the morning. The gel contains some of the best proven ingredients for helping skin be clearer and brighter, like glycolic acid, salicylic acid and retinol, and a antioxidant, Pomegranate extract. So far, I like the results, clearer skin and fewer breakouts. It can sting a little on application, especially if my skin is dry or irritated, but if it helps me go through my peeling groovy slower, I'm a fan. Also, at $40 for 2 oz. it is a decent bargain.

Bliss Peeling Groovy Facial Serum

Now I love me some AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) to get in and clean up all the dirt and dead skin on my face that creates nasty acne, but they can be irritating. The flaky mess post-pimple is almost as annoying as the pimple itself! Well Bliss has come to my rescue (and yours!) with their Peeling Groovy Facial Serum. Instead of harh AHAs, it uses dermotologist developed AFAs (filaggrin-based amino acid antioxidants) to exfoliate the skin. They have shown to be extremely non-irritating to all skin types and they actually attract moisture which helps support healthy skin fuction. So they help to brighten your skin, improve uneven skin tone, and reduce the size of pores. What's not to love?

I've been using Peeling Groovy for about a week, after I wash, and before I moisturize both morning and night. My skin looks great! I've only had one or two minor blenishes and they heal super fast. My skin looks clean and healthy. I'm definately adding peeling groovy to my everyday rutine and I think you should too!

Bliss Triple Oxygen Facial Mask

Most of the masks I've used are for un-clogging pores and drying out oily, breaking out skin. The concept of hydrating and oxygenating masks are pretty foreign to me. So when I got the chance to try Bliss Triple Oxygen Facial Mask, I was stoked.

This at-home treatment is inspired by Bliss Spa's popular oxygen facial. In about 5 minutes, you get a quality treatment for a lot less than you would pay in one of their spas. The directions are to squirt out a decent amount (no need to skimp, the bottle is pretty big) and apply it to your damp, clean face. As you rub it in, the citrus-smelling gel turns into a thick foam. It gets as thick as shaving cream! Then you let it sit on your face for about 5 minutes, no need for any longer. The result is a brighten, more awake look and feel to your skin. Mine feels softer and very clean, without feeling dry or tight at all. For $52, it is an expensive treatment, but it beats pay and spending the time in the spa for the same effect. Use it as a way to paper yourself after a long work day. The smell is glorious and the sensation very calming.

Wishing But Not Buying...Yet.

I am a supporter of the anti-Black Friday movement, aka Buy Nothing Day. The whole concept of a day devoted to buying, buying, buying kinda grosses me out. It reminds me of how obsessed our culture is with consumerism. Of course I am just as guilty as the next guy, especially when it comes to buying beauty products. But for today, I will just look, lust, and linger over my current obsessions and keep my wallet closed:

I really think I need to shape up my wardrobe this winter and get a few more basic, staple items. And who better to take advice from than Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia of Project Runway fame. Make it Work!

Now that I have a new scent, I think the next addition to my product collection should be some new tools. Not powers tools, brushes of course. Bobbi Brown's Pink Quartz Mini Brush Set has the three brushes I really need, and it comes in a cute shiny pink bag. Awww!

When the weather is cold, all I want to do is pamper myself with bath products. Bliss's Merry Citrus set is perfect, and my favorite, Citrusy! Plus, the small sizes are perfect for travel. Who wants to check their bags during the hectic holidays?!
