Awareness is beautiful

Since it is the start of October, I thought I'd do a post on some of the great "pink" products you can buy to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Then I read The Beauty Addict's post advising readers to read the fine print when buying pink ribbon products that are supposed to be donating proceeds to charity. Some companies have a cap to how much they'll end up donating, and others only give 5% or so of their take to charity.

So I did a little googling and I found an even more interesting article on the hypocrisy of some cosmetics companies. The website Think Before You Pink points out that some companies who have huge charitable programs for women continue to include ingredients that have recently been linked to cancer development. Read the stunning article Here.

So the bottom line is, BE AWARE! Read the fine print, read the ingredients, and choose your products wisely. I do think some of the "pink" products out there are really cute and fun and not all companies are bad. Here are a few BCA items I found on Sephora.com, and none of them have parabens or phthalates!
